Charges Against Michael Ballweg Continue to Crumble

The defense made it clear that the tax authorities had apparently taken actions long before the official initiation of criminal proceedings, raising significant procedural questions.

Attorney Dr. Reinhard Löffler explained: “The tax administration seems to have acted disproportionately early, without a concrete basis. This raises serious doubts about the legality of the entire process.”

Charges Against Michael Ballweg Continue to Crumble

Attorney Ralf Ludwig criticized the one-sided approach of the authorities: “We repeatedly see how donations to and expenses by Michael Ballweg have been deliberately interpreted to his detriment. Instead of an objective review, we are witnessing an attempt to construct criminal offenses to sideline the founder of the QUERDENKEN movement.”

Ludwig further emphasized the lack of evidence supporting the allegations against Michael Ballweg: “After months of hearings, there is not a single piece of evidence that supports the charges. The case is built on a foundation of assumptions and misinterpretations.”

Defense’s Proposal: Dialogue Instead of Years of Proceedings

Attorney Gregor Samimi expressed openness to a resolution: “We have offered the chamber to discuss possible agreements to shorten these lengthy proceedings. It is now up to the chamber to approach us.”

Reflection and a Call to Berlin

Michael Ballweg concluded by inviting participation in a demonstration on February 13, 2025, in Berlin, addressing the police dissolution of demonstrations in August 2020: “These trials and demonstrations are part of a bigger picture. It’s about coming to terms with the events, seeking truth, and achieving justice. I look forward to seeing many supporters in Berlin.”

The next trial date in Stuttgart is set for January 31, 2025. The focus will again be on the lead investigator of the fraud allegations, whose questioning was interrupted on January 10, 2025.
