28th Day of Trial in the Case Against Michael Ballweg – Court Focuses on Cable Ties and Medical Costs 

Background: “Cable Tie Expense” and an Incomplete Day of Trial

One witness testified that she had purchased cable ties. The court inquired in detail about their use — including for attaching posters. Previously, speculation had circulated on social media regarding the purpose of the transfer labeled “Cable Tie Expense.” The €92.06 amount had caused public confusion, but it was clarified factually during the hearing.

Another witness reported on a €1,000 payment for medical support at a rally, which was used to cover costs incurred by a non-profit organization. Both transactions are linked to the support of gatherings in the context of QUERDENKEN-711 demonstrations.

A third witness, a senior tax official expected to testify on the classification of donations as income, failed to appear due to health reasons. The tax authorities have still not processed Michael Ballweg’s tax returns – for over 16 months now.

Defense Lawyers Submit Motions and Criticize Trial Delays

Attorney Hans Böhme filed a motion to lift the current asset seizures and release confiscated items. In his view, this step is long overdue. Attorney Dr. Reinhard Löffler summed up the day with an ironic jab: “Another day in paradise” — a nod to the lack of meaningful progress in the proceedings.
